St. Peter Catholic Church in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, is the oldest Roman Catholic parish in the Mid-South region, established in 1840. The current Gothic-style church, designed by renowned architect Patrick Charles Keely and completed in 1855, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. St. Peter's is also home to the National Shrine of St. Martin de Porres, added in 2001, honoring the first Black saint of the Americas.
